surprisingly, a nightmare to do business with.

One of our customers wanted a 100th anniversary edition Browning for his collection. Only 100 of these guns were produced.

We located one at a Cabelas in Hazelwood, MO. After confirming via phone with their Gun Library that it was available, new, and with the original box we began the purchasing process.

Wed, Day 1: On that day, per their request we faxed them…

-a copy of our FFL,

-2 Streamline Tax exemption certificates

-a document stating that I am an official buyer for Blackwood Station signed by the owner

-copy of my drivers license

-a copy of the owners drivers license

We gave them our company credit card information also.

By the end of the day they were satisfied with all of our paperwork. I told them we would like to pay an additional shipping charge to have the gun shipped priority overnight. They agreed to ship it out the next morning and they would charge us an additional $50.00.

Thurs, Day 2: Cabelas called to ask us to fax them our original NC Department of Revenue Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Registration. We did as they asked knowing the information on this was already covered by the 2 streamline tax exemption certificates faxed to them the previous day.

According to our credit card statement our company card was charged by Cabelas this day. It was charged an excess $100.00 above the price of the gun. We were happy to pay the extra $50.00 for shipping.

Why were we charged another $50.00 on top of that? It is a mystery to us.

Fri, Day 3: No Gun.

Sat, Day 4: We called Cabelas to find out where our gun was.They didn’t ship it on thursday after saying they would. They sent it out at the end of the day on Friday. The gun never arrived Saturday.

(we are closed Sunday and Monday, which is why we worked so hard to have it shipped ASAP overnight priority)

Tues, Day 7: I called Cabelas first thing to ask when they shipped the gun, did they overnight it as I payed and requested it to be. My call was transferred two times. No one wanted to speak to me and no one knew about my transaction. Two of them were rude. They put me on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. They called back 5 minutes later to tell me they did ship the gun on thursday and that it should arrive today according to the tracking number. They also told me Fed Ex doesn’t work on Saturday so that’s why we haven’t seen the gun. (Fed Ex delivers Priority Overnight on Saturday; http://www.fedex.com/us/fedex/shippingservices/package/standard_overnight.html.)

He gave me the tracking number and I tracked it after our conversation was over. According to Fed Ex the package was priority overnight but wasn’t shipped until the end of the day on Friday.

Half hour later the gun was delivered.

We opened the box and the gun wasn’t shipped in its original box.

This collectors gun was wrapped in green bubble tape and shipped in a random cardboard box.

After leaving a message with their gun department we called Cabelas every 15 minutes until someone answered our call. Once again, no one there knew who we were or about our transaction. We were put on hold. FINALLY, they figured out who we were and where the box was. They told us they could ship it to us. They needed our name, address, and telephone information all over again. We asked for a tracking number and were told that wasn’t his job. Some one else would call us later with a tracking number.

Today, Wed Day 8: We are waiting on the box and a tracking number.
